91°µÍø received fabulous news in May! We were named by the New Mexico Broadcasters Association – with awards for Best Feature News, Best Continuing Coverage, Best Legislative Coverage and Best Website.
And there’s more! The Society of Professional Journalists Region 9 Chapter announced the winners of the regional competition. The 91°µÍø news team made a great showing there, too, taking 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in both the Enterprise Reporting category and General Broadcast Excellence.
I cannot tell you how validating it is to receive this kind of recognition from our fellow journalists. It means not only that our work can hold its own in a competitive news market, but also that our journalism stands out for high quality reporting, subject matter and execution.
91°µÍø aims to cover the stories that affect your lives and your communities. We work to include the voices of a wide range of people, including people who are not often featured in news coverage. We are willing to put resources into covering the stories that no one else is covering, or to cover stories in ways that are unique.
We do this work with you in mind – you are always with us as we decide what stories to cover and how to cover them. What information does our audience need to know? Who can most effectively explain what’s at stake? How can we tell these stories in ways that capture attention, entertain and communicate the importance of the issue or topic at hand?
