UPDATE 10/21 5a: Much of New Mexico east of the central mountain chain is under a flood or flash flood watch today. The may produce 1 inch of rain per hour and some hail may clog drainages, exacerbating flooding.
Areas where soil is already saturated, burn scars from wildfires, steep areas and low areas are at the most risk for flooding today.
The warnings are in effect until late tonight.
There's also a winter weather advisory for the high elevations of the northern mountains with 4 to 8 inches of snow likely in Taos, 5 to 9 inches in Eagle Nest throughout the day and overnight.

A large storm is making its way across New Mexico this afternoon.
The National Weather Service has issued a for much of the state until 9p tonight. There was also a until 3 or 3:15 in places like Rio Rancho, Los Alamos and Belen. Large hail that would likely damage vehicles and winds gusting to 60 mph were predicted.
