University Showcase 7/17 8a: On this episode we talk with about the origins and the goals of the Black Lives Matter movement and how Afrofuturism can inform the creation of a more just society.
The killings of African Americans such as George Floyd, Ahmad Arbery and Brionna Taylor have sparked protests around the country and the world calling for racial justice. Professor Coleman was one of the speakers in an organized by African American Student Services at the University of New Mexico called 鈥淪haking the Room.鈥�
Most of the videos are available on Instagram under the handle and there are plans for more events later this summer and fall.
