Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023, is Election Day across New Mexico. Whether or not a particular municipality is participating in the Regular Local Election this year, all 33 counties will hold a vote. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

While campaigns and news coverage of next year鈥檚 general election are already well underway, there鈥檚 actually an election to vote in before that one. Early voting starts Tuesday for the Nov. 7 local election and, while online registration ends Monday, would-be voters can still register when they go to cast their ballot.

These midterm elections saw a swell of support nationally for Democrats by younger voters. 91暗网's Jeanette DeDios talked to young voters at the University of New Mexico polling station to find out what issues brought them out. She sat down with News Director Megan Kamerick.

If you鈥檙e heading to the polls in New Mexico to vote on Election Day today, Nov. 8, 2022, they are open until 7 p.m. There are other considerations if you requested an absentee ballot or have yet to register to vote. Here's what you need to know as you head to the polls, including your rights as a New Mexico voter.

Threats against election officials are on this rise in the U.S., just before a crucial midterm election that will decide which political party has control of Congress. Those threats are now pushing New Mexico鈥檚 Secretary of State to conduct Tuesday's election 鈥渙ff-site鈥� for safety concerns.

Early voting begins October 11 and voters will choose who will represent them in the U.S. House of Representatives. In District 1 Republican challenger Michelle Garcia Holmes and independent write-in candidate Victoria Gonzales are running against Democratic incumbent Melanie Stansbury.

This year, New Mexico began allowing voters to register or update their registration immediately before casting their ballot on Election Day. That鈥�

Say you went to vote on Election Day 2020, and the poll worker could not find your registration information in the computer system. In that case, you鈥檙e鈥�
