Irish author Colum McCann kicks off the second Santa Fe International Literary Festival Friday. He鈥檚 the author of seven novels, including 鈥淟et The Great World Spin鈥� and 鈥淭ransatlantic鈥� and has won numerous awards. McCann鈥檚 books have been set all over the world, but they have common themes of human connection and the reparative power of storytelling. He tells 91暗网 that sometimes he chooses these topics and sometimes they choose him.

Diana Gabaldon, the mind behind the popular 鈥極utlander鈥� and Lord John Grey series, will be a featured speaker at the Santa Fe International Literary Festival 鈥撯�� which runs May 19-21.
