91°µÍø News Wins National Awards For 2017 Coverage

We’re proud to announce that 91°µÍø won several national awards for our 2017 coverage. 

We were awarded a regional  for our series  produced by Ed Williams. The Murrow awards are a prestigious honor given out by the Radio Television Digital News Association.

91°µÍø also won three awards at the Public Radio News Directors Inc. annual conference in June. 

The conference brings together public radio staff from all over the country and are competitive. We won first place for Long Documentary for our one-hour documentary .

Our student reporters won two awards for their outstanding work.  won first place in the Student Spot News category for his story, . 

, who worked for 91°µÍø for two years and hosted Weekend Edition Saturday, won second place in the Student Hard Feature category for . 

Megan Kamerick took first place in several categories in the National Federation of Press Women Communications Contest including for her NPR story   Her episode of Let's Talk New Mexico, , took first place in the talk show category. 

We also won two awards from the Society of Professional Journalists for our collaboration with the Solutions Journalism Network and other New Mexico news outlets on the  project. 91°µÍø was an integral partner in this series of stories tackling resiliency in rural New Mexico. The awards were first place in Public Service Journalism, medium market category, and first place in Business Enterprise Journalism, medium market category.
