She came to New Mexico in early 2017 following various internships and part-time jobs at newspapers around the country. She previously worked as a technology and health care reporter with Albuquerque Business First. May joined 91°µÍø's Public Health New Mexico team in early 2018. That same year, she established the New Mexico chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and received a fellowship from the Association of Health Care Journalists.
